Abigail Marie Clancy Bio
Abigail Marie Clancy is an English lingerie, catwalk and television model from England. She was second in the final of Britain's Next Top Model (cycle 2 in 2006) and she was the winner of series 11 on Strictly Come Dancing (2013). In 2015, she has been Britain's Next Top Model. Clancy was born in Liverpool. She is the second oldest child of four siblings, Karen (nee Sullivan), Geoffrey Thomas Clancy. She was born in Woolton which is a region in Liverpool. She was a student at St Mary's Primary School, as well as St Julie's Catholic High school. Clancy formed girl band Genie Queen, who were managed by Andy McCluskey from Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD). Clancy was selected as one of the 13 finalists to the second season of Living TV's Britain's Next Top Model. She was competing for a 10-week modeling contract. Clancy together with another contestant Lianna Foller was selected to appear on the final runway show. Clancy eventually became the second place winner. Clancy has been a model for a variety of newspapers and magazines following his appearance on Britain's Next Top Model. In the month of May 2007 Clancy appeared on the cover of Arena magazine. He also modelled the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike. Clancy was also featured in Sports Illustrated magazine's 2010 swimsuit edition. Clancy was selected due to her connection to Peter Crouch. She was photographed by Yu Tsai in only body paint, making it look as though she was sporting an England shirt. Clancy was included in Umbro's campaign for 2010. She was wearing an England shirt and was accompanied by other women of the teams that won. Clancy was seen walking with the Giles Deacon Ready-To-Wear Giles Spring 2011, collection. Clancy also appeared on Elite Model Management: New York division website in March 2011. She was a part of London designer Hasan Hejazi's campaign for July 2013. The editorial was shot created by Absynth Photographyic, and the fashion film was directed by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy also modelled for the August 2011 cover of UK Esquire shot by photographer Solve Sundsbo. Clancy was included in LOVE magazine's Advent Calendar along with Suki waterhouse and Cara Delevingne. Clancy was featured on the cover of British Marie Claire, July 2014, and British Elle, March 2015. In October of 2019, Abbey Clancy and her daughter Sophia Crouch collaborated with Lipsy, a London-based fashion brand to launch their AW'19 collection. The AW19 collection was launched by Lipsy in Abu Dhabi, in January 2020.
